Smoke Rings 

 

SMOKE RINGS is a short experimental film about Lilith, an estranged woman who has arranged for the murder of her husband.  As she waits in the darkened bar for her hit-man to arrive, thoughts of the murder race through her mind.  A plane has departed, a plan is in motion, the decision to continue is hers. 

SMOKE RINGS is a traditional narrative.  However, director JASON DICKERSON decided to try something different.  Drawing on infuluences from independent film director, Steven Soderbergh, DICKERSON began changing the structure of the film, making it a psychological study of a desperate woman. 

  DICKERSON presents a gripping, intense portrayal of the character by making the audience uneasy 
with a non-traditional style".

DIRECTORS BIO:

Director, JASON DICKERSON is a native of Rochester, New York, received his Bachelor's Degree from Houghton College in New York with a major in Psychology and minor in Biology.  He studied a semester his senior year at Los Angeles Film Studies Center where he interned at New Line Cinema and learned to make Super 8 films.   He went on to Regent University where he received his Master's Degree in Communication majoring in Film and Television.  He has worked as Camera Operator and First Assistant Cameraman for New Dominion Pictures which produces Discovery and Learning Channel shows.
